FORT KENT – Norman Boutot, 86, died peacefully Dec. 13, 2011, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born April 20, 1925, in St. John, son of Albert and Rose (St. Peter) Boutot.
Norman was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his service, he was employed by Scovill’s Brass & Copper Manufacturer in Connecticut until he was age 62, and later working for Sears in Connecticut until retiring at age 79. Norman and Irene later moved back to their roots in northern Maine. Norman was an avid outdoorsman; his favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Phil and his wife, Lynne Boutote, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; four grandchildren, Doreen and her husband, Timothy O’Sullivan, of Harwington, Conn., Casandra and her husband, Eddy Flores, of Vero, Fla., Darrin and his fiancee, Sonia Boutote, of Chicago, and Leah and her husband, Giang Leisch, of Birmingham, Ala.; five great-grandchildren, Timmy, twins Patrick and Liam O’Sullivan, Isabella Flores and Selah Leisch; two brothers, Pat Boutot of New Canada and Claude Boutot of Southington, Conn.; and three sisters, Kathleen Turner of Thomaston, Conn., Madline and her husband, Al Spinny, of Washburn, and Lorriana and her husband, Joe Bossie, of Jacksonville, Fla. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Caron) Boutot, in 2010.
Friends may call 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday, Dec. 17, at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be held May 15, 2012, at the parish cemetery.
