BANGOR – Norman O. Robinson, 93, husband of Eleanor (Crockett) Robinson, died Dec. 23, 2011, with his family at his side. He was born April 20, 1918, in Willimantic, son of Walter and Lillian (Knowles) Robinson.

Norman spent his formative years in Monson and graduated from Monson Academy in 1935. Norm had a great work ethic, owning and operating three independent grocery stores. He then started a 50-year career with New York Life Insurance Co. Later in years Norm enjoyed building and selling sporting camps – the last being Camp David in Maxfield, with many great times shared with family and friends. Norm, Dad, Gramp will be fondly remembered for the great times, shadowed only by the even greater cuisine served up-Ta-Camp. His No. 1 rule at camp “Camp Don’t Talk.”

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor; two children, Marlene Lozier and her husband, Jack, and Jeffery Robinson Sr. and his wife, Nancy “the favorite daughter-in-law,” all of Bucksport; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Carl and Cindy, Jackie and Keith, Ron and Michelle, all of Bucksport, Larry of Lamoine, Jeff Jr. and Laurie, Randy and Cheryl, all of Bucksport; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Velma Richardson of South Portland; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by six brothers, Jefferson, Auston, Guy, Leslie, Myron and Lee; and three sisters, Ida, Lillian and Eulita. Norman’s wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family thanks the staff and caregivers at Winterberry Heights Memory Care Unit for the love and exceptional care of Dad, and the wonderful care from Beacon Hospice.

At Norman’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements by Greenlawn Funeral Director’s, Bangor.
