BUCKSPORT – Our beloved mother, meme and grandmother, Lyndall Mary “Bun” Turner had grown tired and passed away peacefully Feb. 4, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor nursing home facility at the age of 96.

Lyndall was born Jan. 2, 1916, one of 10 children to Pearl and Louise Bennett.

Our mother loved yard sales and always was looking for the next bargain. She liked to go for rides; although she never had a driver’s license, she liked to tell others how to drive. She made the best bread, doughnuts and chocolate pudding. Mom always lived in Bucksport and never wanted to be far from home. She was a devoted and one of the oldest members of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 72 years and was a member of the Bucksport congregation. One of her greatest pleasures was attending meetings and taking in Bible knowledge and sharing that knowledge with others. Lyndall also had several nicknames. At a young age she was known as Bunny, later in life it became Bun and Aunt Bun. Then at Stillwater Health Care once again was affectionately called “Bunny.” At the age of 17 she married William Turner and they were happily married for 54 years.

She is survived by one son, Ronald Turner and his wife, Jo-Ann of Wells. She is also survived by two daughters, Nancy Robinson and her husband, Jeffrey Sr., of Bucksport and Roxann Clapper and her husband, Thomas, of Bucksport. Meme leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Ronald Turner Jr. of Moodus, Conn., Steven Turner of Englewood, Fla., and Michael Turner and his wife, Lisa, at Manchester, Conn., Jeffrey Robinson Jr. and his wife, Laurie of Bucksport, Randy and wife, Cheryl Robinson, of Bucksport, Nicole Clapper Gillway and husband, James, of East Orland and Justin Clapper of Bucksport. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Noreen, Caitlin, Erika, Marina, Aaron, Sarah, Christie, Lindsay, Paul and Sarah. Lyndall is survived by her beloved brothers, Stanley Bennett and his wife, Helen, of Bucksport and Victor Bennett of Bucksport; special sisters, Lucille Quinn of Tremont, Rosemary and her husband, Bernard Bennett, of Bangor Geneva and her husband, Elmer Smith, of Orrington and Gertrude Crockett of Tampa, Fla.; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Turner, in 1987; her brother, Edwin Bennett; and sisters Gladys Wallace and Ellie Rich. The family appreciates “Uncle Stan” for his daily visits and making it possible for Ma to stay in her home until six months ago. Thank you to our dear friend, Vicki Dulong for being there for Ma’s final journey. Also thanks to the staff at Stillwater Health Care, especially Joan, Carole and Randi; and special thanks to Beacon Hospice for their care and support the last couple weeks.

Visitation for friends and family will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Bucksport Kingdom Hall, 439 River Road, Bucksport.

Yes, Ma we pulled the shades, shut off all the lights and locked the door.
