BELFAST, Maine — A man accused of threatening another man with a knife in a fight was arrested over the weekend.
Christopher O’Brien, 28, of Belfast was charged with assault and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon after the fight late Sunday night, according to Chief Mike McFadden. Officers went to a Black Landing address after hearing a report of a fight between two men and learned there that O’Brien allegedly had used a kitchen knife in a threatening manner.
McFadden said that alcohol was involved and that it was an argument that “turned physical.”
O’Brien was taken to Waldo County Jail in Belfast, where he remained in custody Monday afternoon. Bail was set at $1,000 cash, according to a jail official.
