LINCOLN – Dorothy G. Savage, 72, passed away Feb. 6, 2012, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born June 2, 1939, in Lincoln, the daughter of Vinal and Clara (Martin) Downs.
Dorothy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a 100 percent devoted mother and sister. She loved her family.
She is survived by her significant friend, Cliff Barker; children, Regina Drake, Edward Arthurs, Ronald Savage and Tammy, Brian Savage and Theresa, John Arthurs and Tammy, and Troy Arthurs and Lynn; a sister, Diane Clifford; a brother, Elwood Downs and Diana; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Lucian Arthurs; her second husband, Elwood Savage; a daughter, Lisa; three sisters, Marjorie Lane and Frank, Maxine Ware and Norman, and Lorraine Downs; as well as a special brother-in-law, Rodney Clifford.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Lincoln, with the Rev. Roy Richardson officiating. Spring interment will be at South Chester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
