AUGUSTA, Maine — A man who participated in the Occupy Augusta demonstration has been sentenced to jail for threatening a man with a knife.
Anthony Williams pleaded guilty Monday in Kennebec County Superior Court to criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
The Kennebec Journal reports that he was sentenced to three years in jail, with all but seven months suspended. Because he already has spent four months behind bars since his arrest in October, he will be eligible for release in three months.
Police say the 27-year-old Williams was at a gas station about a mile from the protest site in October when he asked the other man for a ride. The victim told police that when he told Williams no, Williams threatened him with a knife.
Williams said he was “goofing around.”
They’re just a peaceful bunch, now aren’t they?

The Kennebec Journal reports today that the protesters that stormed the Blaine House in November 2011 were “no-shows” for court today. They must believe they are above the law. Nevertheless, the Judge issues arrest warrants for these people. Can you imagine that?
Everybody loves the Occupiers…Not. Actually it’s mostly the Democrats. .The Democrats embraced these intellectuals and their vague, clueless demonstration. Sure makes you proud!
