FORT FAIRFIELD – Marilyn M. Michaud, 78, wife of the late Delcie J. Michaud, passed away Sunday morning, March 25, 2012, at her residence after a brave battle with renal disease and heart failure. She was born Nov. 16, 1933, in Easton, the daughter of Stanley MacDougal Moore Sr. and Marion Pearl (Perrigo) Moore.
Upon graduating from Aroostook Central Institute, Mars Hill, she worked at various jobs in clerical work and management, including as office manager at Potato Service, Presque Isle, for many years, then MECON, Caribou, as a supervisor. Marilyn was known for her work ethic and skill as an organizer and problem solver. Family was first for her. There are many cherished memories of the generosity and care that she extended. She was a mentor, teacher and loving big sister to her siblings, and an anchor of strength for all those who came under her attention and care. All of her life she loved to travel and memories of adventurous road trips still bring smiles. She was at home behind the wheel, preferably the wheel of an out-sized eight cylinder with a four-barrel carburetor. With an ear for language, she was well-spoken and articulate, especially enjoying word games. She met the love of her life, Delcie Michaud, during a vacation at the family camp on St. Croix Lake. Her intelligence and friendliness attracted his attention and he told her within days of meeting her that he would marry her. They were together the rest of their lives.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Delcie, April 20, 2002; her stepdaughter, Sharon Michaud-Carlina; uncle, Lawrence and aunt, Agnes Moore; aunt, Phyllis Moore Goff; her sister, Lillian Elde Marriner; brothers-in-law, Charles Larson and Edwin Michaud; and sisters-in-law, Ella Michaud Baker, Alexina Michaud Jones, Albertine Michaud Cyr and Addie Michaud Larson; and nephews, Joey Marriner, Bert Larson and John Larson. She loved and missed them all dearly. She is survived by her children, Kathryn M. Allenby of Fort Fairfield, Barbara E. Michaud of Portland, Charles D. Michaud of Bangor and Georgianna M. Michaud of Rockport; her sisters, Barbara Jean Littlehale and her husband, Robert, of Warren, Carol Aliprandi and her husband, George, of Middletown, Conn., Ellen Larson of Folsom, Calif., Geraldine DiCentes and her husband, Ed, of Sherman, Phyllis Moore of Paradise, Calif., and Marguerite Lawler and her husband, Joe, of Smyrna; brother, Stanley Moore and his wife, Sandra, of Newport; and sister-in-law, Hazel Bossie of Millinocket. Her grandchildren, Rachael, Lesley, Clinton, Chelsea and Clayton were very dear to her; and also she leaves beloved nieces, nephews, cousins; and aunts, Mildred Marguerite Simpson and Geraldine Mallett. Betty Angelos and Mary Haines were dear, lifelong friends. Marilyn was grateful for special neighbors, Rose and Dave, Kevin and Lil, and Shirley and Vinal, Mike and Penda, and for the spiritual support of all the friends from the Mapleton/ Presque Isle area meeting. Her family is grateful for the care Marilyn received from Dr. Daniel Fowler, Aroostook Dialysis Center, Elder Independence of Maine, and all their staff.
