BANGOR, Maine — A man with three bags of goods, some stolen, was arrested Friday morning when a resident of the Bangor Gardens-Kenduskeag Gardens area called to say a thief was going through his daughter’s car, Bangor police Sgt. Ed Potter said.
The suspect — identified Friday night as local transient Josh Gray, 31 — was arrested and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, according to Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan.
“They’re sorting out the three bags of property,” Potter said late Friday morning.
Six residents in the area reported missing items from their vehicles between 6:40 and 9:30 a.m., and Potter said there may be others.
Officers Eric Tourtellotte and Jason Stuart found the man walking down the street carrying the bags and arrested him after items found inside the bags were linked to those missing from the daughter of the caller.
People who live in the Bangor Gardens and nearby Kenduskeag Gardens area should check their vehicles to see if items are missing, Potter said.

Hmmm, probably wouldn’t happen to a locked car. Always lock you car.
I’m probably guilty of numbing it, but would someone tell me what part of Bangor is referred to as Little City?
The block from the corner of Center and Montgomery, Montgomery and Kenduskeag up to Center and Poplar and Linden and Kenduskeag
Thank you, David and Bangorian for your replies and information.
It’s a small neighborhood of single family homes fenced in by Center Street and Division Street (two of the ugliest in town) and the interstate.
I am amazed by the number of people who still leave their cars unlocked in Bangor. What will it take to get people to wake up and realize this isnt such a wonderful place to live and keep values in your car. At least you still have a car. Car theft is not common in Maine or the Bangor area so save yourself some time filling out forms with your insurance companies, the police time with arresting these punks and then letting them out and then arresting them again…and just LOCK YOUR CAR!!!!!
