ADDISON – Robert D. Graves, 77, passed away April 19, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 16, 1934, in Little Falls, N.Y., son of Donald B. Graves and Pear C. (LaPlante) Graves.

Bob graduated from Cornell University with a degree in agriculture and obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from Rutgers University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 and was discharged with the rank of first lieutenant. Bob worked for Key Bank for 33 years and held various positions in New York, Maine and Seattle. An avid sportsman and outdoorsman, Bob retired in 1994 to South Addison to be on the water. He loved walking and hunting with his two labs, lobster fishing with his wife, Ann, working in the yard, and cutting and splitting firewood. However his real passion was waterfowl hunting. He and his wife hunted in several states, Mexico, Canada, Africa, New Zealand and South America, often with his sons and grandsons.

Bob was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Frances Ziegler and Martha Wheeler. Bob is survived by his wife, Ann; son, Jeffrey D. Graves and wife, Bonnie, and three grandchildren, Jeffrey R. and wife, Kristina, Michael R. and Amanda Reed and husband, Garett, of New York; son, Joel R. Graves and granddaughter, Kristina, of California; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Cherryfield. At his request, his ashes will be placed in Eastern Harbor, where he fished and hunted waterfowl for many years.
