BANGOR, Maine — Two men were charged with underage drinking after a traffic stop on Ohio Street Tuesday night, according to police.
Sgt. Paul Edwards said a vehicle without its lights on was pulled over, and when police arrived, a strong odor of alcohol was coming from the car.
Passengers Cody Smith, 20, of Oxford and Brandon Allen, 20, of Vassalboro were found to be intoxicated and were charged with minor consuming liquor, Edwards said.
The driver was not charged with any crime, the sergeant said.

what a heinous crime…
Maine is officially the most boring state in America.
Untill you have lost a child you will not understand the pain left behind a drunk driver. I will never forget the night six people as well as a family dog were killed because a 19 year old and his 3 friends thought it was ok to drink and drive after a party for a friend. Thank god these two were responcible enough to get a sober friend to drive them .Underage drinking has always been a problem and i do not support it. but i do thank the driver for being smart enough not to drive drunk!!!!
Why do not seem to look the other way at UMaine.
Are you going to post this on every story from here to the end of this year? Why don’t you file some sort of citizen’s complaint with them if you are this upset? Maybe while you are there you can get some grammer lessons.
I have an issue with special treatment for some. I will gladly take grammar lessons when UMaine student learn basic 6th grade math.
One bitter post after another. Sounds to me like you have a serious issue with police. Grow some and politely approach the agency in question and express your concerns. Whining on here will do nothing but annoy others..
hey they should have been glad that the driver wasn’t drinking and let them all go!!!
