AGAWAM, Mass. – Lynn “Evelyn” M. Goodkowsky, 85, formerly of Holyoke, Mass., passed away peacefully May 22, 2012. Lynn was born in Boston.
She grew up in Bangor and graduated from John Bapst High School. She married her beloved husband, Milton, and they enjoyed a long and loving marriage. Lynn was a graceful and accomplished dancer and she and Milton enjoyed many late evenings on the dance floor. Lynn was a caring person who devoted many hours to volunteer work. She taught knitting and crocheting at Holyoke Home Improvement, and participated in the Women’s Auxiliary at Holyoke Hospital. Through Holyoke Rotary Club Lynn and her husband, Milton, hosted foreign exchange students attending Mount Holyoke for more than 15 years. She also volunteered her time with her husband, Milton, to coordinate numerous Holyoke Rotary Club sponsored trips and summer foreign exchange programs for high school students. Lynn always had a wonderful smile, was a caring, loving mother and friend, she will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Milton Ray Goodkowsky; her parents, Sadie and Zaker Ceaser; her brother, Norman Ceaser; sister-in-law, Paula Hennessy; and brother-in-law, Karl Goodkowsky. She is survived by her five children, Sherry Goodkowsky Dill and son-in-law, Gary, Lisa Anderson, Kimberly DelGizzo, Eric Goodkowsky and daughter-in-law, Loretta, and Scott Goodkowsky and daughter-in-law, Kelli. Lynn was also the proud grandmother of Bryan, Greg, Alex, Eric and Sarah. She is also survived by her sister, Vickie Greeley; her sister-in-law, Vicki Spearing; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, Mass. A funeral Mass will be held 11:30 a.m. May 30 at Our Lady of the Cross Church, Holyoke, Mass. Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lynn’s name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
