FORT FAIRFIELD – Muriel “Molly” A. Burleigh, 85, passed away unexpectedly June 6, 2012, at her residence. She was born May 9, 1927, in Fort Fairfield, daughter of Edwin and Frances (Giggey) Giggey.

Molly was a lifelong resident of Fort Fairfield where she attended local schools and was an avid Red Sox Fan.

In addition to her parents, Molly was predeceased by her first husband, Donald R. Parks, Oct. 26, 1970. She is survived by her husband, Reginald E. Burleigh of Fort Fairfield; five sons, Robert Parks of Limestone, Frederick and wife, Myrna Parks, of Plano, Ill., Kent Parks of Portland, Stewart and Kurt Parks, both of Fort Fairfield; one stepson, Charles and wife, Faye Burleigh, of Petoskey, Mich.; five daughters, Regina and husband, William McArthur, of Sarasota, Fla., Penny and husband, Carl Olson, of Caribou, Lynne and husband, Robert Graves, of Presque Isle, Donna Parks of Portland, Mona and husband, Chris Chapman, of San Diego,; one stepdaughter, Katherine Burleigh and husband, Louis Huerta, of Santa Monica, Calif.; one sister, Betty Janson of Delanco, N.J.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, June 11, at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Interment will be held after the Mass at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the interment service at Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Molly to Logan P. Graves Foundation, P.O. Box 429, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
