SEARSPORT – Harold E. Leach, 76, died peacefully Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Togus. Harold was born May 15, 1936, in Islesboro, son of the late Fernald and Gertrude (McLaughlin) Leach.
After high school Harold served his country in the U.S. Army. Harold was a loving and caring man that greatly enjoyed life. He liked to play piano, sing, read and take out his boat for a nice ride. He was an avid churchgoer and loved to share time with his family and friends.
Predeceasing Harold were his parents; sisters, Joanne Price and Harriet Parsons; and a niece, Andrea Sinclair. Surviving is a brother, Carleton Leach of New Hampshire; sisters, Leila Babbidge of Islesboro, Priscilla Sinclair of Florida, Cynthia Perry of Liberty, Judy Leach of Islesboro and Sharon Helps of New Hampshire; a dear friend, Dora; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
An 11 a.m. graveside service for Harold will be held Thursday, June 14, at Greenwood Cemetery, Islesboro. In lieu of flowers, the Leach family suggests memorials be made in Harold’s memory to Pine Tree Hospice, 883 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
