HERMON, Maine — A local man went to Kenduskeag and shot a vehicle on Sunday evening, and was headed to his Hermon home when Maine State Police called Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office asking for assistance, a dispatcher from Penobscot Regional Communications Center confirmed.

The Hermon man reportedly drove home to his residence on Buck Lane about 6 p.m. and was followed by at least 10 law enforcement vehicles, which blocked access to the short dead-end roadway.

Deputy Chief Troy Morton of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office arrived shortly afterward and was seen by Bangor Daily News photographer Gabor Degre stopping his police cruiser to put on his bulletproof vest and other protective gear before proceeding to the scene.

Other law enforcement officers with guns drawn also could be seen at 6:30 p.m. walking down Buck Lane, which is located about half a mile from Hermon Mountain Ski Area, off Creamery Road.

Maine State Police are handling the Kenduskeag vehicle shooting and the Hermon standoff, but were still at the scene and unable to speak to the media, a dispatcher at the Orono Troop E barracks said at 8 p.m. Sunday.

        1. No. His wife’s name wasn’t Gail.  The name “Carlson” is nearly as popular as the name “Bob.”  Stop trying to make a story out of something it’s not.
