ROCKLAND, Maine — A 26-year-old Hope man remained in jail Friday afternoon following his arrest for selling heroin on three occasions to an undercover police officer.
Christopher M. Donohue was arrested late Wednesday afternoon and charged with three counts of trafficking in heroin. He was taken to the Knox County Jail. He made an initial court appearance Friday afternoon in Rockland District Court, where bail was set at $2,500 cash and $25,000 surety. He was then returned to jail.
Police recorded Donohue selling heroin to another MDEA officer who was working undercover, according to an affidavit filed by Allen Weaver, a special agent with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. The undercover officer was wearing a body wire during each transaction.
The first buy was made in the parking lot of Walmart in Rockland on June 20 when the officer purchased $300 worth of the drug. The second purchase was made June 22 at the Hannaford parking lot in Camden, again for $300.
The final purchase was made at an undisclosed parking lot in Rockland on June 28, this time for $200 worth of heroin.
At that deal, the undercover officer asked if he would be able to purchase larger amounts of heroin such as six or seven grams. The affidavit stated that Donohue said, “Oh yeah, not a doubt.”
The MDEA special agent obtained the arrest warrant Aug. 3 and made the arrest Wednesday.

What a waste this guy is.
Thank goodness a lot of druggies are dummies!
Why do you think they call it dope?
He is identified as a Hope man, but is there really hope for this man? Yes, I went there. Seriously, though, he can choose to become a dopeless hope addict as opposed to a hopeless dope addict. But it is not easy to make the commit to recovery. Hopefully, he will make the right choice, someday. (Pun not intended this time.)
I love this….Good job guys……it is a tough, if not winless battle, but the more POS’s like this taken off the street the better….Thanks for the work you do!!!!!!
Yeah, way to go! I mean, just because arresting people for drugs has completely failed to solve the problem for 100 years, that’s reason to give up now. I mean, sure, some people define insanity as repeating the same action over and over while expecting different results – but what do they know, anyway? I don’t ever worry that the War on Drugs has turned the beacon of freedom in the world into the world’s largest prison state. When there’s POS’s like this to be taken off the street who cares if America has more people in prison than China? Amirite?
Wow…I’m sorry to hear that you are so bitter, and have such a distorted view of reality….
Drug use will do that to ya.
Just sayin………
Arresting people for drunk driving, theft and murder haven’t stopped those crimes from being committed either, so what should we do, just stop enforceing the laws all together.
Clearly you have never heard, if you don’t succeed, try, try again. You are correct, thus far we have not won the War on Drugs, but that doesn’t mean we should stop hoping that we can.
I’m not sure where you got your statistic’s on the ratio of people imprisioned in the US as compared to China but I believe you may have over looked one major difference. People in the US are imprisoned for committing crime while people in China are imprisoned for what they think.
Must have worked at MBNA.Always ‘upsell’ and ‘close the deal’!
What I want to know is what time the sale occurred at the Rockland Walmart? Was it in the afternoon while families are parking and walking in? Or at the Hannaford; were there small children walking by when the deal was made? Disgusting.
Oh and I am going to reveal why our overall school performance is down and it doesn’t have anything to do with the schools. Want to take a guess?
