WINSLOW, Maine — Two people from Waldo County are facing multiple charges after a traffic stop turned up drugs and a knife early Saturday, according to police.

Stephen Patrick Loring, 25, and Melissa Goldberg, 27, of Belfast were pulled over for speeding around 1:38 a.m., and Loring’s vehicle was automatically searched for contraband, as per his bail conditions, Winslow police Sgt. Haley Fleming said.

The sergeant said Loring has been arrested for drug offenses before.

A search of Loring’s vehicle produced the drug DMT, along with marijuana, Ecstasy, a knife and an undisclosed amount of cash, Fleming said.

Loring was booked on charges of unlawful possession of a scheduled X drug and trafficking in dangerous knives while Golberg is facing charges of unlawful possession of a scheduled W drug, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were taken to the Kennebec County Jail.

  1.  Loring’s vehicle was automatically searched for contraband, as per his bail conditions… Both suspects were taken to the Kennebec County Jail and were automatically released after producing 75 cents for bail. I say that in jest… but we all know how the system works.

      1. Do you not realize the Federal Government reimburses MAINE STATE GOVERNMENT for housing inmates,  too many frugal minded people in MAINE think they a great amount of taxes, which is a farce, join the rest of the world, and if you break the law, go to PRISON, were maybe they will learn to speak like the rest of the country, hey maybe somehow learn to speak correct ENGLISH, HEY , and maybe even learn to play BASEBALL,  MAINE has always been the slowest do nothings since history began, somehow maybe even learn to DRIVE.  Hang onto that penny!!!!
