STRONG, Maine — A man released from Franklin County Detention Center on Friday morning was arrested hours later on charges of trespassing and stealing a bike from a farmhouse on Route 4, police said.

Chad W. Lockrow, 37, whose last known address is Boston, was taken into custody after he returned to the property where he was arrested last week for criminal trespass, Franklin County Deputy Sandy Burke said.

Last week, Franklin County Detective David St. Laurent noticed someone entering the house through a window. He and Detective Tom White and Lt. Niles Yeaton took Lockrow into custody. Lockrow pleaded guilty and was released Friday morning after serving his sentence, an official said.

On Friday, police warned him not to return to the property, Burke said.

Detective White followed Lockrow to the farmhouse, where he is accused of taking an L.L. Bean bicycle. He was again arrested on charges of criminal trespass and theft of lost or misplaced property, Burke said.

Police contacted the retailer to see if it could identify the owner with the serial numbers of the fairly new black Pathfinder Jr. bike. The owner is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department at 778-2680.

Lockrow has an extensive criminal history from seven states, Burke said.

Bail was set at $2,500 cash but Lockrow will have to wait till Tuesday to appear in court, Burke said.

    1. We don’t want him! Find out where he’s originally from in one of those other states and ship him there.

  1. I’m curious to know just what was so important inside that house.  Sounds to me like this perp knows that there’s something special in there or at least something special to him.

  2. If you click on the link to the first address, he was brought in for “criminal mischeif” and released on 5,000 cash bail.

They warned him not to return.

Why did they only charge him with criminal tresspass and “THEFT OF LOST OR MISPLACED PROPERTY” the second time, it seems, even though this article says criminal tresspass is now twice?

What the heck? How exactly does one ‘steal lost or misplaced property’, and how does criminal mischeif turn into criminal tresspass only after the second arrest?

Either some mistakes in reporting the charges and plea, or….no idea what else the ‘or’ could be. Just all doesn’t fit together too well. lol

More charges this time, with a prior now to do with same location, but lower bail this time with double the charges??? WTF???

Reading all this over again it sounds like they don’t know if these things were stolen or not. I mean, it quite well could be that they are, but they don’t know? Just strange.
