FALMOUTH, Maine — Two pairs of Mainers are participating in an eight-day, cross-country car rally to draw attention to missing Maine toddler Ayla Reynolds and teenager Aydriana Tetu.
Bill and Valerie Sowles of car dealer Morong Falmouth and Maine tourism director Carolann Ouellette and Tina Scheer from TV’s “Survivor Panama” left Maine on Wednesday. They’re headed for Independence, Ohio, for the start of a northeastern Fireball Run, a 15-city event that ends in Bangor, Maine.
Each team has been assigned a missing child, with a large decal featuring that child affixed to the team vehicle.
Officials say Aydriana Tetu of Lewiston is believed to have run away from home and has not had contact with family or friends since March. Toddler Ayla Reynolds disappeared from her father’s home in Waterville in December.

It would be great to see some progress in the Ayla case. Little girl disappears and we don’t seem to be any closer to solving the case than we were months ago. What a shame!
I wish the police would give another news confrence and let us know how this investigation is going.. Time to turn up the heat!
I have a feeling somebody dropped the ball.
We are approaching One year since little angel Ayla disappeared. None of the three adults in that home the night she disappeared is budging. They have Zero conscience and zero care in the world over this little girl. Isnt about time that McAusland and the rest of the dweebs at the Maine State Police just come clean with society and say, hey, we dont have anything, we dont dare charge him and this case is going COLD…..And if ONE more person tells me to be patient because these cases take time and the police are great and always get their man or woman, i truly believe i will barf….I am so truly sick of the so-called justice that this state has to offer.
Time to bring in someone who specializes in cases like this. Ayla at least deserves that.
If you have personal information on this case, I am sure the police would be DELIGHTED to hear from you.
In the U.S.A. authorities do not “arrest” people on “a hunch” or because the public has decided guilt. They must have facts, evidence, and preferably a body. Right now they are doing their job as “police” in a nation of laws, are supposed to do. I assume they are collecting any evidence which is available.

The State of Maine has a 90% clearance rate which means that they solve over 90% of these cases. Maine does far better in this area than some jurisdictions which solve fewer than 60% of violent crimes.
