BRUNSWICK and MADAWASKA – Lorraine T. Ouellette, 83, of 50 Baribeau Drive, Brunswick, died unexpectedly March 11, 2013. She was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, daughter of the late Leonard and Marie Anne (Martin) Soucy.
In 1948 she married Reno Ouellette in Edmundston, New Brunswick, where they later relocated to Madawaska. She worked as a waitress for many years before receiving her hairdressing certification from Mr. Bernard’s School of Hairdressing. She then worked out of her home as a hairdresser until her retirement in 1979.After her husband’s death in 2005, she moved to Brunswick to be closer to her children. She was content watching television, especially her soap operas, news shows and Catholic TV. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform at soccer games, tennis matches and chorus concerts; as well as traveling to various vacation spots with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her spunkiness and great sense of humor. She always had the great ability to make people laugh. She was loved by so many people and will be missed greatly.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Martin; and her two brothers, Leonard and Clarence. She is survived by two sisters, Majella Bouchard of San Benito, Texas, and Ann Marie Bujold of Port Cartier, Quebec; and a brother, Donald Soucy of Magog, Quebec. She also leaves four children, Bonnie Cipriani of South Kingstown, R.I., Rebecca Calabrese of Broad Brook, Conn., Gilman Ouellette of Lords Valley, Pa., and Venessa Rohman of Topsham. She also has 10 grandchildren, Nicole Cipriani-Fox, Leslie Cipriani, Thomas Cipriani, Nicholas Calabrese, Michael Calabrese, Gilman Ouellette Jr., Doninique Ouellette, Emily (Rohman) Gillette, Nathan Rohman and Anna Rohman; and a very special niece, Therese Labrosse of Ottawa, Ontario.
A memorial service and burial will take place in Madawaska later in the spring.
