WYTOPITLOCK – Calvin A. Potter, 90, husband of Florence (Knights) Potter, died May 5, 2013, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Bancroft, the son of Alvin and Bertha (Agnew) Potter.
Calvin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked in the woods and liked camping, hunting and picking fiddleheads. He enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, Florence; he is survived by two sons, Gary Potter and wife, Paula, of Benton and Larry Potter and significant other, Larry Plant, of Portland; two daughters, Patricia Lucas and husband, Anthony, of Stetson and Judy Hanscom and husband, Stevan, of Lee; brother, Leland Potter and wife, Mavis, of Danforth; nine grandchildren, Jamey, Jason, Jessica, Troy, Stacy, Ryan, Chad, Melissa and Erica; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Hazel Rollins and Alva Gray; and great-grandson, Nolan Lucas.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at Wytopitlock Baptist Church, with the Rev Duane Waite officiating. Interment will be at Wytopitlock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Reed Plantation Fire Department. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
