BANGOR – Gretchen L. (Goodwin) Dupuis, 67, passed away with family and friends by her side May 2, 2013. She was born Sept. 28, 1945, to Ralph and Hazel Goodwin.
Gretchen graduated from Bangor High School and studied accounting at Beal College. She worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center, EMMC, as unit secretary and telemetry monitor for more than 15 years. Gretchen enjoyed her work and family very much and was extremely happy that so many were able to visit with her in her last few days. Prior to EMMC, she enjoyed rewarding careers with Snow and Neally Company and Bauer Canadian Skate. Gretchen was a wonderful mother, grahmcracker “grammie,” sister, aunt, cousin, coworker, friend and lady. Despite her daily breathing struggles, she found the strength to add value to so many other people’s lives on a daily basis whether with a smile, a call, a kind word, or her innate ability to know when someone needed a little encouragement.
Gretchen is survived by her son, Earl Parker and wife, Linda; and beloved granddaughters, Emily, Sarah and Miranda of Cary, N.C.; sisters, Phyllis Garnett and Rhoda and Ed Turner; and brother, Donn Goodwin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Memorial plans are not finalized but a celebration of Gretchen’s life will be held soon and details will be shared with family, friends and coworkers. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
