OLD TOWN – Clifton L. Moors, 98, died peacefully May 22, 2013, at a local nursing facility. He was born Aug. 6, 1914, in Old Town, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Slager) Moors.
Clifton worked for more than 36 years as a powerhouse operator at Old Town Paper Mill. He was a founding member of Penobscot Federal Credit Union and also operated Crown printing for many years. He enjoyed gems and jewelry, building dollhouses and working in flower gardens. He was a life member of AF & AM Lodge 60. He enjoyed baseball and coached little league for several years.
He is survived by three sons, Robert Moors and wife, Bobbi, of Rockport and their daughter, Kimberly Moors Miiler, Stephen Moors and wife, Claudia, of North Caroline and their two sons, Stephen Moors Jr. and Brandon Moors, and Stanley Moors of Old Town; daughter, Joyce Ann Moors of Weare, N.H., and her two sons, Paul St. Peter and Matthew St. Peter, and two daughters, Monica St. Peter Pollard and Maria St. Peter Sappier; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Louise Parks. He was predeceased his wife, Anita (Conroy) Moors in 1975; eight siblings, Charles Moors, Walter Moors, Guy E. Moors, Ralph Moors, Hazel Pond, Vivian Pyle, Wilford Moors and Forest Moors. The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their wonderful and compassionate care given to Clifton during his final days and a special thank you to Vanessa and the girls.
There will be no formal services.
