Paul volunteered his time in helping Bucksport Area Day Care Center in accounting. He was also on the board of Bucksport Regional Health Center. He was chairman of the appeals board that heard the appeal from AES, a coal burning company, and was denied. He was also a member of Friends Meeting, Bucksport. Paul was an avid gardener who also loved fishing and golf.
