NICEVILLE, FLA. – Mrs. Eleanor L. Scurti, of Bluewater Bay, Niceville, passed away at Twin Cities Hospital on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, after a brief hospitalization.Born in Garland, March 22, 1923, she was the daughter of Earl and Marjorie (Crowell) Young, formerly of Milo.
Eleanor attended school in Milo and graduated from Milo High School in 1939.
Ellie is survived by her husband, Guy, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. She was a devoted and loving wife. They enjoyed living overseas and traveling together for many years. Guy always remarks that Ellie was a willing and supportive companion whenever he received a new assignment. Making a comfortable home for them was always her first priority. Two of their favorite countries to travel to were Germany and Italy, making several visits with Guy’s cousin, Gabrielino, and family in Pineto, Italy. Ellie was a compassionate animal lover and cared for a series of cats and dogs throughout her lifetime. She also enjoyed staying in contact with her family members and learning about their activities and accomplishments. She will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Marian Tobin of Connecticut; her brother-in-law, Gene Scurti of Massachusetts, and his children, Bob and Laurie; nephew, James Tobin and wife, Marlene of New Hampshire and their children, Sean and Colleen; niece, Linda Mangel and husband, Larry of North Carolina; niece, Janet LaBella and Lew Kimball of Connecticut and her daughters, Alison, Meredith, and Susanne; nephew, Gary Raphanella of New Hampshire and his children, Stacy and Anthony; niece, Gail Mitton and husband, Authur of Massachusetts and their children, Kim and Andy; as well as 18 great-grandnephews and nieces.
