DRUMORE, Pa. – Paul Robert Barnett, 69, of 1909 Rivervue Drive, Drumore, Pa., died Nov. 7, 2013, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, Pa. He was the husband of Shirley E. Hughes.
Paul entered the U.S. Army in August 1962 and retired as a Command Sergeant Major in October 1988. During that time, he served in many countries including Germany, Iran, and Turkey. Throughout retirement, he had great pleasure traveling and boating on the Chesapeake Bay.
He was born Dec. 2, 1943, in Millinocket, son of the late Charles and Winifred (Grevious) Barnett. The last of his immediate family, he was predeceased by brothers, Jeremiah, Charles A. Jr., Wilfred “Jack,” and Kenneth; and sisters, Edna Brooker, Philis Beaupain, Dorothy Brown, Kathleen Gillette, and Patricia Johnson. Survivors include a daughter, son, two stepdaughters, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
No formal services will be held. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
