PHILADELPHIA — Rookie wide receiver Jordan Matthews caught his first two NFL touchdown passes and veteran wide receiver Jeremy Maclin had one of the best days of his career as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Redskins 37-34 on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Eagles (3-0), who trailed by 17 points at halftime of their first two games, fell behind 17-7 in the second quarter on Sunday before quarterback Nick Foles hooked up with Matthews for a pair of touchdowns, from 12 and 11 yards. Matthews, who had just three receptions for 54 yards in the first two games, finished with eight receptions for 59 yards and the two TDs.
Maclin, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, finished with eight receptions for 154 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown reception from Foles with 7:34 left to play that gave the Eagles the lead for good.
That came after Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson — who played for the Eagles the last six seasons — scored a touchdown on an 81-yard pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins that tied the game 27-27.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Rashad Jennings rushed for a career-high 176 yards on 34 carries and New York beat Houston at MetLife Stadium for their first victory of the season.
New York had multiple mistakes in the first half, many by a beleaguered special teams unit, but the Texans had three turnovers and failed to generate consistent offense without starting running back Arian Foster, who did not play.
Seahawks 26, Broncos 20 (OT)
SEATTLE — Russell Wilson and the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks returned to winning ways with a thrilling 26-20 overtime victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday in a heavily anticipated rematch of last season’s title game.
Running back Marshawn Lynch bulldozed his way into the end zone from six yards out for the game-winning touchdown, ending a 13-play drive over 80 yards by the Seahawks that lasted almost six minutes.
A week after suffering a surprise loss to the Chargers in the searing heat of San Diego, the Seahawks regained some of their champion swagger with a confident display on home turf for the first three quarters at CenturyLink Field.
But the Broncos, who trailed 17-3 heading into the final quarter, staged a brilliant comeback with swarming defense and some pinpoint throwing by Peyton Manning to tie the score at 20-20 on a two-point conversion and take the game into overtime.
Wilson threw for 258 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while Manning completed 31 of 49 passes for 303 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Cowboys 34, Rams 31
ST. LOUIS — With assistance from the Dallas Cowboys defense, Tony Romo’s fourth quarter this week featured a comeback win instead of the meltdown many expect.
The Cowboys quarterback’s 12-yard touchdown toss to wide receiver Terrance Williams with 6:13 remaining capped the Dallas comeback from a 21-point first-half hole in a 34-31 win over St. Louis at Edward Jones Dome.
Linebacker Bruce Carter, who missed time in the third quarter with a head injury, applied the clincher by returning an interception 25 yards for a score at the 5:58 mark.
Colts 44, Jaguars 17
JACKSONVILLE — Quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns in Indianapolis’ rout of Jacksonville. The Colts avoided falling 0-3 as the offense accumulated 529 yards of offense.
The Jaguars benched quarterback Chad Henne and let first-round pick Blake Bortles open the third quarter. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley announced after the game that Bortles would get the start next week against San Diego. Bortles finished the game completing 14 of 24 passes for 223, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

CINCINNATI — Running back Giovani Bernard rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Andy Dalton hauled in his first career TD reception on an option pass from receiver Mohamed Sanu, and Cincinnati extended its regular season home winning streak to 11 games at Paul Brown Stadium.
Bengals WR A.J. Green, who missed most of last week’s game with a toe injury, returned Sunday with six catches for 102 yards.

DETROIT — Defense scored the first nine points for Detroit and held Green Bay’s offense to 223 total yards at Ford Field. Defensive back Don Carey scored on a 40-yard fumble return in the first quarter and linebacker DeAndre Levy had a team-high nine tackles, one for a safety.
Detroit’s offense got on the board on running back Reggie Bush had a 26-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter for Detroit, which bounced back from a loss at Carolina the previous week. Bush rushed for 61 yards on 12 carries and caught six passes for 38 yards one week after he was frustrated by having just seven total touches.

NEW ORLEANS — Fired up by a personal foul call on which he was slammed to the turf by cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, quarterback Drew Brees threw an 18-yard scoring pass to Marques Colston in the fourth quarter to wake up a stagnant offense and carry New Orleans to the victory over Minnesota at the Mercedes Benz Superdome.
The victory, the Saints’ first after an 0-2 start, extended their home winning streak to a franchise-record nine games. Brees completed 27 of 35 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns.
Ravens 23, Browns 21
CLEVELAND — Justin Tucker kicked a 32-yard field goal on the final play to carry Baltimore to a victory at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco took over from the 50-yard line with 1:58 to go after the Browns were unable to run the clock down. He guided the offense 37 yards to set up Tucker’s game-winner as time expired. Earlier, Browns kicker Billy Cundiff missed a 50-yard attempt and had another attempt blocked.
Chargers 22, Bills 10
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Philip Rivers threw for two touchdowns and San Diego’s defense recorded three sacks and a safety as the Chargers defeated Buffalo at blustery Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Rivers completed 18 of 25 for 256 yards and wide receiver Eddie Royal caught touchdown passes of three and five yards. The Bills were limited to 87 rushing yards.
