THOMASTON, Maine — Four people were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after a minivan slammed into a utility pole.

None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to Thomaston Police Chief Kevin Haj.

According to the crash report done by investigating officer Michael Blais, a 2002 Honda Odyssey driven by Jane Tarbox, 24, of Cushing was heading north on Route 1 at 6:41 a.m. when the vehicle drifted to the right and the driver overcorrected. She crossed the road and went off the road before striking a utility pole head-on near the main entrance to the Dragon Products cement plant, Haj said.

Tarbox and her three passengers were taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport, the chief said. The other passengers were Yvett Tarbox, 49, Harold R. Tarbox, 49, and Harold R. Tarbox Jr., 24, according to Haj. The two older Tarboxes were not wearing seat belts, he said.
