AUBURN, Maine — Police are seeking a man who held up a convenience store at knifepoint clad in a Spider-Man mask.
The robbery occurred just before 2 a.m. Monday at the Big Apple on Main Street, according to Auburn Deputy Police Chief Jason Moen.
The suspect entered the store, displayed a knife and demanded money from the clerk, according to Moen.
After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber fled the scene and ran through Bonney Park into Lewiston, Moen said. A male customer chased the man down and was assaulted by the robber in Bonney Park.
Moen said the customer was treated at the scene for a punch he received.
The robber is a thin white man standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and, in addition to the Spider-Man mask, was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
The robber was last seen crossing a footbridge into Lewiston, Moen said.
