AUGUSTA, Maine — Police, fire and rescue personnel and members of the Maine Warden Service are on the Kennebec River for a person in the water, according the Augusta Police Department’s Twitter account.
Efforts to reach a spokesman at the police station were unsuccessful about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The tweet was sent out about 2:15 p.m.
A Maine State Police dispatcher in Augusta said about 3:15 p.m. that no further information was being released. He said that any new information would be released later in the day by Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine State Police.
