ORONO — In addition to its regularly scheduled public star shows on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons at the Emera Astronomy Center, the third week in June will kick off the

planetarium’s summer schedule with two additional public shows 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each star show features a tour of the Maine sky and exciting exploration of the universe.

“Undiscovered Worlds” will be shown at 7 p.m. Fridays, June 5, 12, 19, and 26 will feature adventures into space to visit planets far out among the stars.

“Little Star that Could” will take place at 2 p.m. Sundays, June 7, 14, 21, and 28.

A fast-paced full-dome demonstration of lunar phases, eclipses, day and night, the sun and other puzzling events with the help of a confused coyote in “Earth, Moon and Sun” will be featured at 11 a.m. Tuesdays, June 16, 23, and 30. A live tour of the Maine sky and its constellations will complete the micro-unit of astronomy.

Explore the cosmos and see how the sky has impacted and expanded understanding of the universe while visiting celestial wonders at 11 a.m. Thursdays, June 18, and 25.
