AUGUSTA, Maine — Officials have ruled a Medford man who died while fishing last month drowned in Bean Brook in Piscataquis County.

Mark Belserene of the chief medical examiner’s office said Tuesday the death of Darren Clement, 18, has been ruled a drowning.

Clement’s body was discovered by a game warden shortly after 8 p.m. May 24.

The man went fishing with his cousin and uncle in Bean Brook on May 24, and they called for help when Clement did not return at the end of the day.
