HOLDEN, Maine — One town council candidate and two residents running for the Regional School Unit 63 board easily won to their positions Tuesday in a pair of uncontested elections.

David “Rod” Black was returned to the Town Council for another three years with 127 votes.

Incumbent candidate Jennifer Newcomb and Suzanne Wieland won seats on the school board with 130 votes and 122 votes, respectively, according to election tallies posted on the town’s website. Joy Knowles, whose position is expiring, opted not to seek another term.

Also on election day, Holden residents voted 96 to 50 in favor of validating the RSU 63 education budget. When results from the other member towns of Clifton and Eddington were factored in, the district budget was approved in a 220 to 96 vote.
