PORTLAND, Maine — John Anderson pitched 6⅔ scoreless innings as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats shut out the Portland Sea Dogs 2-0 in the second game of their Eastern League baseball series at Hadlock Field on Wednesday night.

Anderson scattered seven hits and struck out four batters while walking none. Chad Girodo worked 1⅓ innings of relief and retired all four batters he faced before Wil Browning pitched a perfect ninth inning to record his first save of the season.

New Hampshire took a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Dalton Pompey that plated Ian Parmley — marking the 14th consecutive game that the opposing team has scored first at Hadlock Field.

The Fisher Cats doubled their lead in the fifth on an RBI single by Dwight Smith Jr. that also drove home Parmley.

Luis Diaz worked a quality start for the Sea Dogs but was tagged with the loss. He allowed two earned runs on seven hits over six innings while walking two batters and striking out five.

John Cornely worked two scoreless innings in relief for Portland, while Miguel Celestino pitched a scoreless ninth, allowing one hit.
