BANGOR, Maine — Dana Ouellette didn’t allow a run and gave up just two hits in 6 ⅓ innings to lead Old Town to its first berth in the Senior League World Series with a 3-0 victory over Bronco/Hermon in the District 3 Senior League baseball championship Tuesday night at Mansfield Stadium.
The Old Town all-stars (3-0), the Maine District 3 champs, will compete in the World Series which begins on Sunday, Aug. 2 in Bangor. Four games will be held on the opening day on the tourney while Old Town will play its first game at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3.
Bronco of Hampden Little League and Hermon finished the district tourney with a 3-2 record and advanced to Tuesday night’s championship round after eliminating Bangor 10-8 earlier in the day.
Ouellette walked just two batters and struck out two before Ethan Stoddard came on to get the final two outs and record a save in the championship game.
Old Town struck for two unearned runs in the top of the first when Kaleb Gifford singled, stole second and scored on an infield error as Stoddard reached base. Stoddard then scored on a single by Austin Sheehan.
Old Town added another run in the fifth when Ryan Hoogterp singled home T.J. Crawford. Crawford reached when he was hit by a pitch and then stole second base.
Hoogterp and Sheehan each finished with two singles for the winners and Ouellette doubled.
Casey Sudbeck doubled for Bronco-Hermon.
In the first game, Bronco-Hermon rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth to erase an 8-5 deficit and added another run in the seventh to advance.
Andrew Gendreau pitched a scoreless seventh to earn a save for Bronco-Hermon. Max Thomas sparked his team with a double, single and four RBIs. Tyler Beaton chipped in with two doubles and an RBI while Sudbeck contributed two singles and two RBIs.
Cameron Burpee led Bangor (2-2) with three singles and an RBI and George Payne added two singles and two RBIs. Gary Farnham chipped in with two singles, Jesse Colford added a two-run double and Zach Ireland also doubled.

State tourney, 9-10 all-stars
Westbrook, Saco to vie for title
At Ellsworth, Westbrook will battle Saco for the state championship in the Little League baseball ages 9-10 division at 4 p.m. Thursday after finishing as the two top teams when pool play concluded Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Lewiston beat Waldo County 10-3, Saco shut out Westbrook 10-0 and Bangor West edged Ellsworth 10-8.
In the first game, Lewiston’s Matt Connor recorded the pitching win and helped his cause with a double and single in the victory. Mike Dymkowski contributed a double and two singles while Cooper St. Hilaire added three singles and Daxton St. Hilaire chipped in with two.
Cole Ellis, Brady Clements, Jeremiah Porter and Levi Winslow each notched a single for Waldo County.
In the second game, Mason Collins earned the shutout for Saco and was backed up by Will Davis, who doubled and singled. Collins and Matthew Page each added a single while Brady Graffam chipped in with two singles.
Alec Hodgkins singled twice for Westbrook and Reid Garber added one.
In the final game, Landon Clark, Caleb Robbins and Scott Fahey each hit two singles to help lead Bangor West by Ellsworth. Colby Johnston added a single and Matt Holmes was the winning pitcher.
Miles Palmer recorded three singles to spark Ellsworth. Brett Bragdon added a double while Michael Palmer and Wyatt Bragdon each contributed a single.

Trenton 7, Madison 5
At Blue Hill on Monday, Conor Maguire yielded five runs — none earned — through five innings on the mound and had two hits and an RBI at the plate to lead the Acadians to victory.
Garrison Looke singled twice and drove in four runs and Hank Vinall went 3-for-3 with a double. Gage Feeney (one RBI), Jake Keenan (one RBI), Tony Bianco, and Joe Archambault each doubled for 11-7 Trenton as part of an 11-hit attack. Looke also earned a two-inning save.
Jones went 3-for-3 for the 8-9 RTD 39ers of Madison while Cody Lawyerson had two hits.
