MONMOUTH, Maine — A fox, shot and killed after it reportedly attacked several people in Monmouth earlier this week, has tested positive for rabies.
Monmouth police tell CBS 13 the CDC confirms the fox did have the disease.
On Monday, two people reported being attacked by the fox near Main Street.
One man told CBS 13 he was able to kick the fox away after it bit his shoe at his home.
Police say a resident shot and killed the fox Monday night.
