The University of Maine-Farmington field hockey team picked up two victories in games over the weekend.

At Framingham, Mass., UMF sophomore LeeAnne Greenleaf recorded her first two career goals on Saturday as the Beavers won their opener 3-0.

Greenleaf scored a goal in each half and Emma Spahr also added a second-half goal. Sarita Crandall chipped in with two assists and Mara Balboni had one. UMF’s Patti Smith made five saves and Framingham’s Rosemary Talbot had 12.

On Sunday in Boston, UMF rolled by Wheelock 13-1 behind three goals each from Rebecca Young and Jenessa Talarico. Spahr chipped in with two goals while Rylie Turner, Crandall, Andrea Stemm, Susan Newkirk and Emma Martineau each added one. Smith finished with two saves. Wheelock’s Meghan Lewis made 18 saves.

Wellesley 4, Husson 0

At Wellesley, Mass., on Saturday, Anissa Sridhar scored a pair of goals, and Nikki Sharkin added a pair of assists as No. 10 Wellesley (1-0) defeated Husson 4-0 in nonconference play .

Husson’s Anne Marie Provencal finished with 15 saves. Husson of Bangor is 0-3.

Thomas splits weekend

At Dudley, Mass., on Saturday, Thomas scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-1 win over Nichols.

Katie Taylor scored off a rebound at 3:17 and then assisted Abigail Dunn’s goal. Sophany Srey added the third goal off an Allyson Clary pass.

Thomas added its fourth goal early in the second when Dunn converted a Gabby Martell assist.

Goalkeeper Abbie Charrier earned the win for Thomas, which had a 17-3 shots advantage. Nichols’ Ariana Beauregard made 13 saves.

On Sunday, in Bridgewater, Thomas fell to Bridgewater State 1-0 when Tori O’Deal scored unassisted with eight minutes left in the game.

Charrier made six saves for Thomas (1-2).

Women’s Soccer

UM-Fort Kent 8, Thomas 0

At Waterville on Saturday, the Bengals used first-half goals from Catherine Bruno, Kayla Richards and Kendra Freund and an own-goal from Thomas as they rolled to the win.

Freund added another goal in the second half for UMFK (3-0) while Marie Montagne, Yosselin Berrueco and Katherine Ferland each added a goal.

Michelle Delgadillo had one save for UMFK and Paige Leary had 21 for Thomas (1-1-0), which was outshot 48-2.

Husson splits in tourney

At Bangor on Sunday, Husson shut out St. Joseph’s 1-0 in the Husson Classic as first-year coach Amanda Cummings picked up her first collegiate win and Alison Boulier notched her first collegiate goal.

Boulier beat St. Joseph goalkeeper Michelle Cunha from 15 yards out with an assist from Myra Degree at the 68th minute.

Kayla Gordon made three saves for Husson (1-0-1) and Cunha had eight for St. Joe’s (1-2).

On Saturday, Husson and Western New England battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime.

Emma Norden put WNE on the board via a Brooke Labrie touch pass in the 37th minute but Taylor Fortin equalized for Husson when she converted a Leah Hibbard corner kick.

Gordon made four saves and Briana Kubilk had eight for WNE.

Northeastern 3, Maine 0

At Orono on Sunday, Hannah Lopiccolo’s shot went off the goalpost and in for the only goal the Huskies needed to beat the Black Bears at the 27:22 mark of the first half.

Maine (3-2) suffered its second straight loss.

Kayla Cappuzo and Lopiccolo each added a second-half goal with Cappuzzo converted a Loppiccolo cross and Lopiccolo later stole the ball from Maine goalkeeper Claudia Dube-Trempe and scored.

NU (5-1) outshot Maine 8-4 with Dube-Trempe finishing with two saves. Nathalie Nidetch made one first-half save for NU.

UNE 5, UMF 0

At Farmington on Sunday, the University of New England scored four first-half on its way spoiling the first game played on Robert Leib Field, named for the longtime UMF coach.

Jessica Meader gave UNE all the scoring it would need, scoring on a breakaway in the 15th minute. Brionne Turcotte gave the Nor’easters a 2-0 advantage 13 minutes later, cleaning up a rebound off a shot by Jackie Dickerson.

Kara Hecker and Becca Murphy each added a first-half goal for UNE (2-0) and Taylor Usko converted a header in the second half.

Sam Hatch had seven saves for UMF (0-1), which was outshot 29-6.

UMFK 4, MMA 0

At Castine on Sunday, Yosselin Berrueco scored a first-half goal and UMaine-Fort Kent added three more in the second half to beat Maine Maritime Academy.

Kayla Richards, Marie-Laurance Monta and Katherine Ferland each added a goal for UMFK and Michelle Delgadillo earned the win in net. Maggie McConkey made 12 saves for MMA.

Men’s Soccer

UMass Boston 3, Thomas 1

At Waterville, Elton Teixeira and Edmilson Barros each scored a first-half goal to help UMass Boston edge Thomas on Saturday.

Adam LaBrie scored from a Tre Ming assist for Thomas in the second half.

Alfonso Rosales made eight saves for UMB and Joakim Sternas had 10 for Thomas.

Husson drops two

Husson University dropped a 2-0 decision to Babson on Saturday and then was beaten by 4-1 by Wheaton on Sunday in a weekend swing to Massachusetts.

At Babson Park, Justin Kaplan and Carlo Araujo scored late second-half goals to beat the Eagles.

Steven Paquette finished with 11 saves for Husson.

At Norton, Amara Sesay and Louis Chavez scored first-half goals for Wheaton before Husson’s Phil Frost cut the deficit to 2-1 via a penalty kick.

The Lyons put the Eagles (1-2) away in the second half on two goals from Noah Kossoff. Paquette had 10 saves..

MMA 4, UMPI 0

At Presque Isle on Sunday, Kyle Haslam scored two goals to help Maine Maritime Academy roll by UMaine-Presque Isle.

Jack Weeks and Bryan Soucy each added a goal for MMA with Tom Samson, Matt Leblanc and Soucy each adding an assist.

MMA’s Joshua Reeks made two saves and UMPI’s Caleb Bragg-Grady had 15.
