BATH, Maine — Officials are searching for an individual or individuals who allegedly broke into the Patten Free Library early Friday and made off with a donation jar.
According to a statement from the library, a fundraiser had been ongoing for education materials since Sept. 1 and the container had about $1,200 worth of change in it.
The fundraiser was going to run until the container was full.
Anybody with information on the incident should contact the library or Bath police.
