Deputies said in a news release that they received several 911 calls around 10:30 a.m., reporting a young child was wandering alone on Route 4.

Deputies arrested 32-year-old Courtney Abbott and 40-year-old Kerry Ross, both from Livermore.

Abbott was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, violation of conditions of release and obstructing government revocation.

Ross was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, trafficking in a scheduled drug, violations of conditions of release and obstructing government administration.

Deputies said passers-by stopped and tended to the 3-year-old girl. Officials said the girl and an 18-month-old boy were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston. It was unclear from the news release where the boy was when deputies found him. The children were evaluated and released into the custody of Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

Both parents are being held in the Androscoggin County Jail and are scheduled be arraigned Monday.
