KENNEBUNK, Maine — Two New York men were arrested early Tuesday morning after $25,000 worth of heroin was found during a traffic stop on the Maine Turnpike, state police said.

The arrests of Robert Hines, 28, and Jason Viorla, 30, both of the Bronx, occurred after their vehicle was stopped going 90 mph in the northbound lanes in Kennebunk, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

Trooper Robert Cejka and his canine partner Maxx searched the vehicle and 152 grams of heroin were found in the trunk, McCausland said.

Both men were charged with heroin trafficking and taken to the York County Jail. The Class A felony charges carry a maximum penalty of 30 years and a $50,000 fine.

Both men remained Wednesday evening at York County Jail, Cpl. Peter Turner of the York County Sheriff’s Office said. Turner said that bail was set at $100,000 cash for Viora and at $65,000 cash for Hines during the men’s initial court appearances on Wednesday.
