WELLS, Maine — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announced Tuesday that a Wells couple has been charged in connection with a meth-making operation at the camper that they and their three children were living in at 859 Post Road.

Jennifer Boudle, 28, and her boyfriend, 41-year-old John Regan, who also is from Concord, New Hampshire, were charged with unlawful operation of a methamphetamine laboratory, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Tuesday in a news release.

The drug charges stem from a search of Boudle’s home on Nov. 16, he said.

Boudle was taken into custody by drug agents and Wells police on Monday afternoon after a vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped in Wells, McCausland said. He said that Boudle was taken to the Wells police station and then freed on $500 bail.

Regan and the three children were located on Tuesday in Concord, New Hampshire, McCausland said. Regan will be returned to Maine to face his meth charge upon completion of his extradition proceedings, McCausland said.

The children are safe with relatives, he added.

According to McCausland, Wells police and agents with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration went to the camper on Nov. 16, suspecting that the pair were manufacturing meth inside.

“Agents found Boudle and Regan at the camper, along with their three small children, ages infant to 10 years old,” McCausland said.

Agents seized the camper and allowed the family to leave as they prepared paperwork to search the camper.

That search yielded a significant amount of evidence related to the manufacturing of methamphetamine, McCausland said. Arrest warrants for the couple were issued on Dec. 23.
