GARDINER, Maine — Crews battled an apartment fire in Gardiner overnight.
The fire started around 11:30 p.m. Monday at a building on Highland Avenue.
Three families live in the apartment building. Firefighters initially were concerned the flames would spread to a neighboring building.
When crews arrived, flames were coming from the second floor. Five departments responded, and it took crews about two hours to get the fire under control.
No one was injured, and everyone inside the building made it out safely.
No word yet on the cause of the fire.
