MANCHESTER, Maine — Two men are facing charges after drugs were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop Monday night, according to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.
A traffic violation led detectives to stop a Volvo driven by Eric Worthing, 30, of Industry around 11 p.m. on Route 202, according to Sheriff Ryan Reardon.
Worthing’s license was suspended, and he had a warrant for his arrest for driving with a suspended license. His passenger, Adrien Sanders, 30, of Rochester, New Hampshire, had a Granite State warrant for failing to appear on a cocaine charge, Reardon said.
Both men were taken into custody, and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 20 grams of MDMA, also known as Ecstasy, in crystal and pill form, Reardon said.
In addition, 1 gram of ketamine and various drug paraphernalia was found, Reardon said.
Worthing was charged with trafficking in MDMA, a Class B felony, operating with a suspended license and unlawful possession of ketamine while Sanders was booked on being a fugitive from justice, Reardon said.
Both were taken to the Kennebec County Jail, where Sanders was not allowed bail. Bail for Worthing was set at $2,500 cash.
