EDDINGTON, Maine — Emera Maine customers in multiple towns were without power for much of Monday morning because of a minor crash, according to a statement from the company.

A dispatcher at Penobscot Regional Communications Center said a minor crash on Route 9 in Eddington that damaged a utility pole was the cause of the outages. No injuries were reported in the crash.

The utility company reported shortly before 7 a.m. Monday that more than 1,600 customers in Amherst, Bradley, Clifton, Dedham, Eddington, Holden and Mariaville were in the dark.

As of 11 a.m. Monday, power was restored to affected customers.
