The Bangor High School hockey team has roared out of the gates in its first four games.
The Rams have won all four contests by a combined score of 21-1 while senior goaltender Derek Fournier has posted three shutouts.
Fournier’s most recent shutout came on Tuesday night as the Rams blanked rival Brewer 2-0 in a contest played at the University of Maine’s Alfond Arena.
Coach Quinn Paradis’ club will have a chance to test itself against another Class A power in St. Dominic of Lewiston and some out-of-state schools next week as the Rams will take part in the St. Dominic Academy Christmas Classic.
All games will be played at Auburn’s Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn, which features two ice sheets.
Joining Bangor and St. Dominic in the tourney will be Edward Little of Auburn, Bishop Brady High School of Concord, New Hampshire, St. Thomas Aquinas of Dover, New Hampshire, Smithfield (Rhode Island), Northwest Catholic of West Hartford, Connecticut, and Notre Dame of Fairfield, Connecticut.
The action begins on Tuesday with four games, with Edward Little taking on Bishop Brady at 1 p.m. and Bangor facing St. Dominic at 5 p.m.
The tournament will be a three-day affair, with four games on Dec. 28 and two games on Dec. 29. The final matchups will be determined by the results of the first two days.
“The goal of the St. Dominic Academy Christmas Classic is to provide a high caliber and unique hockey experience to our student athletes. It showcases the proud tradition of St. Dom’s hockey and is becoming known as one of the best high school hockey tournaments in the Northeast,” said tournament director Steve Ouellette in a press release. “We continue to look forward to the participation of Bangor High School.”
St. Dominic has won its first two games of the season while Edward Little enters Wednesday’s contest against Windham/Westbrook seeking its first victory after two losses.
