Jennifer Lee scored a pair of goals to lead the 14th-ranked University of Rochester to a 2-1 victory over Husson University in their NCAA Division III Sweet 16 game at Middlebury College in Vermont on Saturday.
Rochester, now 18-3, will take on No. 2 Middlebury College, 17-2, in Sunday’s 1 p.m. quarterfinal after Middlebury eliminated the University of New England 5-0.
Lee opened the scoring by directing home a pass from Nancy Bansbach 21:35 into the game for her third goal of the season.
But Taylor Shaw equalized with her 15th of the season as she deflected a Mikayla Toth past Kiran Sundaram just 47 seconds into the second half.
But Lee scored the game-winner 3:42 later when she fired home her own rebound after Anne Marie Provencal had made a nice pad save on her initial shot.
Sundaram made two saves on eight shots while Provencal finished with 10 on 19 shots.
Husson wound up 13-6.
In the other game, Grace Jennings, Erin Nicholas and Annie Leonard each had a goal and an assist as Middlebury scored all five goals in the first half to beat Biddeford-based University of New England.
Julia Richards and Lauren Schweppe had the other Middlebury goals, and Abby Furdak made one save on four shots.
Liz Sargent made one save on 12 shots for the University of New England, which wound up 18-5.
