A Brewer woman was arrested after allegedly trespassing at a Bangor house where children were inside alone.
Rachel Gardner, 41, was charged with criminal trespassing, drug possession and probation violation, according to Katy England, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
Gardner allegedly was wandering around impaired in the backyard of the Union Street home about 5:44 p.m. Wednesday when she tried to enter the home through the basement.
When one of the children opened the door to investigate, Gardner entered the home, England said Thursday morning.
The children fled upstairs to hide and called the police.
Officer Sam Ellis, who was familiar with Gardner from indecent conduct earlier in the day, responded, and during a search before her arrest, police found suspected methamphetamine on Gardner.
