I cannot imagine how my World War I Army veteran and “Roosevelt New Dealer” grandfather would have felt about a veteran running for political office and behaving in the manner Graham Platner does. Both Plantner and his wife commonly use foul language, he dresses like a bum and says he has PTSD. He apparently has an out-of-control libido, disparaged his fellow veterans and displayed a Nazi tattoo.

He has called himself a “communist”; stated that “all cops” were bastards; used homophobic slurs. He has argued that women shouldn’t get blackout drunk if they were worried about sexual assault.

In short, any of this behavior would have caused Gramp to question Platner’s suitability for much of anything except his former trade of bartender. Maine voters and those outsiders supporting him should also question Platner’s suitability for elected office.
