SACO – Alberic Plourde, 83, a resident of Pheasant Road, and formerly of Caribou, passed Friday morning, April 22, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Manor in Portland. He was born April 25, 1921, in Fort Kent, a son of Alphee and Philomene Belanger Plourde. He was educated from Fort Kent schools. On Aug. 17, 1944, he married his wife Lillian St. Germaine. Alberic proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Mr. Ploude was owner and operator of his auto body shop in Caribou for many years. In 1984, he moved from Caribou with his wife and eventually settled in Saco in 1997. He was a dedicated husband and a loving father. Alberic was a man of faith and was active within his parishes serving as a eucharistic minister, parish council member, choir member and the Cursillo movement. Mr. Ploude was known for his smile, sense of humor and hearty laughter. He was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach. He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian St. Germaine Plourde of Saco; three sons, James Plourde of Portland, Allen Plourde of St. Agatha, Roger Plourde of Saco; three daughters, Sister Linda Mae Plourde, p.m. of Saco, Faye Anderson and her husband, Rodney, of Hampden, Lisa Cyr and her husband, Jay, of Old Orchard Beach; one sister, Geraldine Rouillard of Bristol, Conn.; six grandchildren, Aubree, Kyle and his wife, Kellie, Brooke, Melissa, Elisha and Eric; several nieces and nephews Visiting hours will be 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Sunday, from Cote Funeral Home, corner of Beach and James St., Saco. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, from St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach. Burial will be in the spring at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery in Caribou.
