ARLENE M. BRIDGES WHITNEYVILLE – Arlene M. Bridges, 82, passed away July 26, 2005, at Marshall Health Care Facility after an extended illness. She was born June 15, 1923, in Whitneyville, the daughter of the late William and Mina (Pennell) Morrison. Arlene was a graduate of Machias High School. She was employed by the St. Regis paper company for many years as a secretary. She was an active member of the Whitneyville Congregational Church her entire life. Arlene enjoyed sewing, knitting, and baking. She loved taking care of people and touched many lives. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Harry H. “Puggy” Bridges, in January. Arlene is survived by her children, Janet Brown and husband, Harold, of Marshfield, Paula Flaherty and husband, Dean, of Windsor Locks, Conn., and Tom Bridges and wife, Cindy, of Machias; five grandchildren, Heather Jamieson and husband, Wayne, of Texas, Michael Anderson and wife, Sandi, of Machias, Heidi Brown of Marshfield, Jodi Anderson and fianc?, Derek, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Shawn Goodwin of Groton, Conn.; four great-grandchildren, Ariel Jamieson of Texas, Kyle and Jaydin Anderson of Machias, and Hayley Anderson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one sister, Eva Gardner; several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by Steven, Michael, Bridgette, and Taniesha Koch, who also looked to her as a great-grandmother. She was also predeceased by a sister, Catherine Morrison; a brother, James Morrison; and a nephew, Robert Gardner Jr. Visiting hours will take place 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2005, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the Whitneyville Congregational Church.
