FAIRFIELD – Arthur Voisine, 76, went to be with the Lord Nov. 30, 2007, with his loving family by his side. He was born May 22, 1931, in Fort Kent, son of Alexis and Modeste (Bard ) Voisine. He was married to Ursula (Vigue) Voisine for 55 years. He was employed by Maine Central Railroad. He worked as a brakeman, conductor and yardmaster, where he acquired his nickname “The Fox.” He retired after 30 years of service. In 1976, he fulfilled his longtime dream by opening the Fox Den Dance Hall. He enjoyed farming, cattle auctions and most of all “wheeling and dealing.” He was a charter member in the Skowhegan-Madison Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 2531. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ronald Voisine and his wife, Cathy; three daughters, Deborah Voisine Hamlin and her fiance, John Plummer, Peggy Voisine Gayne, all of Fairfield and Pamela Voisine Baker of Bangor; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Eva Thurlow; one brother, Alphonse Voisine; several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Veilleux Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Fairfield, with burial afterward at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Waterville.
